What is the installation procedure for Road Runner?
When you choose to have Road Runner installed in your home, a cable installer is dispatched to split your cable line and place a second cable jack in the room where your personal computer is located. This cable line connects to a cable modem, a small piece of hardware that will sit near your computer.
In order to connect the cable modem to your personal computer, your computer must have a 10baseT Ethernet connector. While these connectors are standard on many business computers and high-end personal computers, older home computers are less likely to have these connectors. A 10baseT Ethernet card can be provided as part of the installation. The actual cost of the installation is determined by the type of card needed.

I already have a modem (14.4/56K). Will this replace it?
If the modem is used for remote access, sending and receiving faxes, voice mail and electronic BBS's, your modem will still be required to perform these functions today. Your PC retailer can tell you if your configuration will accommodate both your existing telephone modem and the Road Runner service simultaneously.

Will I have trouble having two modems in my personal computer?
The Road Runner modem is a unique modem. Without becoming technical, the Road Runner connection is more similar to a network connection, in that a network card is installed and connected directly to the cable modem. The modem itself is not connected directly to a serial port, so both types of modems can reside in your computer. However, if your computer already resides on a network there may be a conflict between your current Network Interface Card and the Network Interface Card that supports the Road Runner software. Please check with your LAN administrator.

Can I host my own home page?
